Personae
We only let others see those aspects of our true selves that we (consciously or unconsciously) choose to let them see. Even then they are filtered and diffused, and presented in imperfect, discreet portions rather than as a whole. And when we form an impression of another person, we can only ever see them imperfectly, as through a keyhole, but we build up an image of their whole from those fleeting impressions.
